📚 What is a Stock Split?

A stock split increases the number of shares while proportionally decreasing the share price. Your total investment value remains exactly the same.

Example: In a 2-for-1 split, if you own 100 shares at $100 each, after the split you'll own 200 shares at $50 each. Total value: $10,000 (same before and after).

❓ Why Do Companies Split Stock?

Lower Share Price: Makes stock more affordable for small investors

Increase Liquidity: More shares available for trading

Psychological Effect: Lower prices often attract more buyers

Options Trading: Easier for retail investors to trade options
